Title
Description
The “Support Programme to the Africa-EU Migration and Mobility Dialogue” (MMD) is designed to promote orderly, safe, and responsible migration and mobility within Africa and between Africa and Europe. The call focuses on implementing strategically relevant initiatives that contribute to the operationalization of commitments made in migration dialogues, facilitating knowledge-sharing, generating insights, research inputs, and policy recommendations that inform the Dialogues’ discussions and priority-setting. Projects should also align with JVAP priority domains or address transversal themes such as climate migration, migration and gender, or migration and health. Implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) with funding from the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) of the European Commission, the programme serves as a key initiative to facilitate structured engagement on migration and mobility issues. It works by assisting partner countries in improving migration management systems while ensuring that migration processes remain humane, efficient, and aligned with international standards. The total indicative funding available under this call is EUR 600,000, with individual grants ranging from EUR 100,000 to 150,000 and a maximum project duration of six months, with all activities to be completed by 1 March 2027. Eligible projects may be implemented in up to three countries, including at least one African Union Member State, with possible activities in the EU targeting diaspora communities. Lead applicants must be legal entities established at least two years prior to the call publication, operating on a non-profit basis in the public interest, and registered in an African Union or European Union Member State. Eligible entities include NGOs, community-based organizations, associations, diaspora organizations, social enterprises, universities, research centers, and think tanks. Applicants must be directly responsible for preparing and managing the action and cannot have received a grant under the first MMD Grant Facility call. Projects must contribute directly to the operationalization of migration dialogues or generate knowledge and policy inputs that support effective dialogue implementation, ensuring measurable outcomes that strengthen migration governance and cooperation.
